Dritz brand fray check is wonderful for sealing edges of fabric and ribbon that continue to fray. Can also be used on ends of serged edges to hold the thread in place. Let dry then trim the edge. Test on fabric before using to make sure color doesn't change. Doesn't take much to hold the seam and may sometimes leave a stiff edge even though usually dries clear. I use this on the corners of pearl edged scarves and napkins.
